Kiku tells us why a VocalBooth was the best solution for her to rehearse with her trumpet—yes, you read it correctly TRUMPET. “I get to try things that are not good yet, and not worry about people hearing and thinking, "wait, she plays for a living?", because if I were to practice what I am good at, it would be a private performance for my pets and daughter. I need to crack more into stuff that sounds awful and now I can do it without wondering who is listening in! I'm also planning on doing some recording in my VocalBooth. I spent way too much time in a studios last year making my album, I'd like to do most of it at home—and now I can!"

Why She Rocks

 Kiku Collins is a freelance Grammy nominated trumpet, flugelhorn and trombone player based in New York City. Her album Here With Me was recently nominated for a Grammy in the Best Jazz Instrumental Album category. When we spoke with her she was on tour with Michael Bolton, Kiku has also worked with major pop stars including Beyonce, Dave Wakeling, Jay Z, Kelly Rowland, TM Stevens, Carmine Appice, Robert Gordon, Sami Yaffa, and Jonathan Richmond.
