"The booth is working out great. I send a lot of things out of here on the ISDN line and always get compliments on how clean things sound."
Tom Bodett is an American author, voice actor and radio host. He is also the current spokesman for the hotel chain Motel 6, whose commericals end with the phrase, "We'll leave the light on for you."
"The booth is up, and was up just in time for the project that I told you about. Thank you so much for getting it to me as fast as you did, it was/is very much appreciated! As you know, I do voice-overs and my new VocalBooth is the perfect place to record all my sessions for the many networks and ad agency clients I have. It’s safe to say that the benefits of my VocalBooth are heard nation wide! Thanks again for your help, prompt delivery and quick responses to all my questions." – Donald James
Heard daily across America. and around the world!
Donald James is the voice you hear on promos, commercials, industrials and documentaries.but that's not all, there's also the internet, audio prompts for equipment used in medicine as well as countless devices that make up the growing world of new technologies. Even if you think you know his work, it's quite likely that you've heard him and didn't even know it!
Dustin James, who is repped by the DPN Agency in Los Angeles, is splitting his time between two towns but loyal to only one VocalBooth™ for his voice work. The Gold Series VocalBooth™ from VocalBooth.com™ has earned his devotion so much so that he has bought two so he can have one in each location.
“I travel so much that the reason I bought it was because it is mobile,” says the voice actor who has clients like DHL Express, McDonalds and Ford. “It is quite and perfectly designed. There is a refrigerator right next to the booth in one of my studios. This fridge has a loud hum and you can’t hear it at all.”
James comments, “Beyond the functionality of it I have to say the booth is extremely aesthetically pleasing. I like that because it looks great, and professional when I have clients in I feel like it really looks good and I am proud of it.”
Jeff McNeal runs a fully digital studio providing state-of the-art production values using the latest sound tools. His voice has a wide range that responds with precision to direction. Jeff recently had the following to say about his new Vocalbooth -
"I record promos on a daily basis for many different clients, and had to get the new studio up and running without delay. After visiting your web site, I decided that your Gold Series demo booth was going to be just the ticket"
When renowned voice talent Ron Knight (CBS, HBO, Nickelodeon, The Travel Channel, ABC Sports) built his studio he wanted the tranquil views of the water his location provided but feared the close proximity of the San Diego International airport.
“The Platinum Series, double-walled and insulated sound booth is a champ! You could hear the airliners arriving every 10 minutes in the building, and in the studio room; but never once on the hard drive recording of our vocal tracks,” he said adding that there were many times he would record a voice over in Pro Tools, track some acoustic guitar and even percussion. “Though you could hear the ambient jet liners in the room itself outside the booth, the isolation was good enough to never hear ambient rumble, low frequencies, jet engine noise, or sky scraper cross-over anywhere in a recorded track. We feel we made a fine investment. This booth cuts to the chase on an extraordinary acoustic demand.”

The votes are tallied and VocalBooth.com™ is a hit at the NCCVE. This non-profit center in Raleigh, N.C. is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving elections in North Carolina.
They recently purchased a 6x6 Gold Series VocalBooth™ to provide more opportunities within their organization to impact voters via radio and TV. “We have a partnership with UNC –TV, statewide public TV, where we are able to conduct interviews with candidates running for office in North Carolina,” said Bryan Warner, Director of Communications. He adds that the purchase of the VocalBooth™ was an investment that allowed them to compete at a higher level by providing a professional recording environment. “We are able to do significant interviews with candidates and also reach out to other non-profit organizations that have a need to record PSA’s.”
The NCCVE has a weekly radio program called Voter Radio that is facilitated, in part, by their VocalBooth™. The radio show allows North Carolina voters to become more informed about issues that affect them and their state. During the 2008 campaigning they did more than 70 podcasts and candidate interviews with NC politicians.

As seen on Monster Garage and Motorcycle Mania, Jesse James uses his 4' x 4' Platinum Series VocalBooth for any vocal overdubbing and voice over work at his garage studio. The Platinum Series was a perfect choice to eliminate unwanted sounds from around his shop for professional vocal recordings.
Jesse's Platinum booth will see a ton of work with his newly established documentary film company, Pay Up Sucker Productions. Look for Jesse's new series Metal Church on Spike TV.
When looking for portable projector enclosures producers at the Sundance Film Festival, turned to VocalBooth to meet their needs.
In response, we designed and built three custom booths. One 10' x 12', and two 10' x 10' portable projection enclosures. Both the technicians and production crews gave rave reviews to VocalBooth's premiere showing.
When it came time for CF Martin to find a large sound room for research and development purposes they decided on a Custom 16' x 16' VocalBooth Gold Series™. Martin Guitars assembled the booth right on their factory floor.
The C.F. Martin & Company is a US guitar manufacturer established in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin. Martin is highly regarded for its steel-string guitars, and is a leading mass manufacturer of flattop acoustics, with models that retail for thousands of dollars and vintage instruments that often fetch six figures at resale.
Higgs Lab
I study hearing in fish and the response I often get is: "Hearing in fish??? But fish don't have ears!!" They do, in fact, have ears, you just have to know where to look (fish have no EXTERNAL ear but they do have an ear inside their head that functions much the same as the ear inside your head). Since it is difficult to ask a fish what it hears, or at least difficult to get a straight answer, we have to come up with other ways to figure out hearing function.
Our vocal booth is integral to addressing this question. We have designed a long fish tank with an underwater speaker that fits inside our booth. We play sounds to the fish in the booth and record the responses of the fish brain, using much the same technique as used in human infants (although hopefully the infants are not underwater). The flexibility and reasonable price of the booth was integral to making this research work at our new lab in Canada.

We were contacted by the Make a Wish foundation for a price quote on a sound room for Eddie to make a studio in his basement. It was his greatest wish and a first for the Boston Make a Wish chapter. We went them one better. We heard the story and reached into our hearts to fully donate a 4' x 6' sound room package complete with windows. Edie is now the proud owner of his own recording studio. Make a Wish supplied the other components including a mixing board, and recording equipment. Boston Celtics forward Walter McCarty was a surprise visitor to the party. McCarty is recording an R&B album and stayed to help Eddie record and mix his first song. Way to go Eddie!
"I could not be happier with the VocalBooth that I installed in Studio 2. It has a sound environment that produces the kind of results my clients expect. The quality and superior service by the team at Vocalbooth.com gives me the confidence to recommend their products without reservation." - Malcolm Welsford
Since 1994, Malcolm has been the recipient of eight Grammy Awards as well as three Gold Album Awards, five Platinum Awards and four MultiPlatinum Album Awards
I currently have four CD recordings of my own to date: "Underneath it All" (Enja-1989), "Curves" (Enja-1990), "Strings with Wings" (Enja-1992), and "Humhead" (Dos-1995). I also have CDs that are collaborations with Austin songwriter Bob Schneider ("Underneath the Onion Trees" Shockorama-2000), legendary jazz trumpeter Bob Meyer ("Gleaming Eyes" cmijazz.com-2003), and Austin bass great John Fremgen with the great Peter Erskine on drums ("Meanwhile" Viewpoint Records-2001).
I currently divide my time between performing with my own band, working on production projects in my home studio, and playing with artists the likes of Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, mandolinist Paul Glasse and bassist John Fremgen. Look for my new CD "In the Time of Long Shadows" out no on Viewpoint Records!
Many good things came from Brian Garcia recording Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway album. A Grammy award followed, a good relationship with Kelly and her producer was strengthened…and Garcia was introduced to VocalBooth.com™.
“The producer I was working with had recently purchased the Gold Series VocalBooth™,” he recalls. “We were able to record Kelly’s vocals and it worked great. I was really impressed…so much so that I asked the producer if I could have the booth and put it in my studio at home. He has graciously given it to me on indefinite loan!”
Garcia, who often finds himself recording guitars, also bought an amplifier enclosure from VocalBooth.com™. This product has a convoluted foam interior, cable porting and has four sizes to chose from. Garcia reports he is able to get great tones when he uses it. “It really helps my work process,” he enthuses. “It allows me to work more from my home environment. I am finding that with budgets the way they are, this gives me an advantage as well as a comfort zone."
Pixel Records
"We love our booths! The Studio Cool System works great (and it has to in Florida)."
Pixel Records in Tallahassee, FL was founded with the idea of empowering musicians. They have built a state-of-the-art digital recording facility with the help from our 3 and 5 Carat Gold Series booths and a Medium-Large Amp Enclosure. In addition, they added our Studio Cool System to their booths for an air conditioned recording environment. It’s a place to come play and shape your audio in a free manner, without arbitrary limitations. They call it the sandbox.
Ron has completed more studio work for the Oak Ridge Boys and continues to work with Larry Stewart and Restless Heart as well as Dan Whyms with Rock Island Line, Chris Golden, Jimmy Fulbright, Greg Gordon and other artists. A VocalBooth from VocalBooth.com was added on January 30, 2007 and Ron says it's hard to imagine recording without it.
Although Ron has been with the Oak Ridge Boys Band, aka The Mighty Oaks Band, for over 27 years, Ron Fairchild Music is the road into the future. Ron is an entertainer, composer, producer in his own right. He has recorded 6 of his own albums, 4 of them contain almost all original material. John McClain and his Dog and Pony Show Studios own two Gold Series VocalBooths™ from VocalBooth.com™. This award winning post-production studio located in Las Vegas has some unique challenges to overcome in terms of their location and the sound issues it presents to their recording process for voiceovers, ADR and Foley work.
“Honestly, I was nervous because the studio has a border of an interstate, a large construction project being built right down the road and the fact that next to us is a helicopter landing pad for scenic tours,” McClain recalls. “But I must say there have been absolutely no sound leakage issues.”
McClain admits that he did his comparison-shopping before making his decision about the purchase of two sound enclosures.“Every other brand has this low-end sound build up which the VocalBooth.com™ brand does not have. That allows us to avoid having to EQ a voice on a voiceover or ADR work. We can match previously recorded dialog.”
Nick Lachey
MTV cameras were rolling as we installed this 4'x6' Platinum Series VocalBooth™ in Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's house as seen in their reality TV show "The Newlyweds."
Nick will be using his new VocalBooth to lay down tracks for his upcoming solo album.
"It's a heavenly sanctuary. I get to blast. I get to scream. I get to try things that are not good yet, and not worry about people hearing and thinking, "wait, she plays for a living?", because if I were to practice what I am good at, it would be private performance for my pets and daughter. I need to crack more into stuff that sounds awful and now I can do it without wondering who is listening in!"
"I'm also planning on doing some recording in there. I spent way too much time in studios last year making my album, I'd like to do most of it at home - and now I can!" - Kiku on her 4'x6' Gold Series
Kiku Collins is a freelance Grammy nominated trumpet, flugelhorn and trombone player based in New York City. Her album Here With Me was recently nominated for a Grammy in the Best Jazz Instrumental Album category. Currently on tour with Michael Bolton, Kiku has also worked with major pop stars including Beyonce, Dave Wakeling, Jay Z, Kelly Rowland, TM Stevens, Carmine Appice, Robert Gordon, Sami Yaffa, and Jonathan Richmond.
Pete Johnston and RealDrumTracks.com
"RealDrumTracks.com is my studio's primary business function. I remotely record drum tracks for songwriters and outsource drum tracks for other studios. As the owner, engineer, and studio drummer, I am able to keep costs down and have the freedom to work on client's songs whenever I want. When working on a new project, I do a lot of practicing with whatever track I'm working on, sometimes long into the night. The booth is integral to my business because it lets me play when I want, as loud as I want- without disturbing the neighbors. The booth is also handy as a VocalBooth, an amp room, and for recording acoustical instruments."
A.J. Tissian, an accomplished producer/engineer living and working in New York City praises his recent VocalBooth.com™ purchase for many reasons not the least of which is its ability to provide a quality sound enclosure in a space challenged environment.
“My studio is about 500 square feet,” he says of his small project studio, Grand Street Studio where he works regularly for Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group and Stern’s Music Group. “I have used it in a variety of applications and it has exceeded my expectations at every turn.” He adds that because of the pentagonal shaped VocalBooth™ (he purchased the 14 Carat Diamond Platinum VocalBooth™) it does not sound like the vocalist or musician is in a box. “The room has a certain live-ness to it that is remarkable. I don’t find I have to add a lot of effects at all. I have even recorded drums in my VocalBooth™. I could not believe how good it was! The booth really proved itself during that use.”
Magnet Man
Magnet Man, from Barbados, has just returned from the UK and Switzerland. While there he released and promoted his current single “Wuck U Right” which is currently being played on UK radio. Magnet performed with a live band at the famous 10 Room celebrity night club above the Café Royale in London. That performance led to an invitation for him to play again with a live band at the Café De Paris. Other top venues he sang at include China Whites and the huge, very popular club, Ministry of Sound where he thrilled a crowd of over 2000 clubbers.
"Just wanted to let you folks know we have been enjoying your product now for several years. We have expanded our space and the construction of your VocalBooth made for the most trouble free move for a unit of its size."
"We could not be happier with your product, so much so that we have your booth prominently pictured on our home page and added a link to your site on our home page as well."
"Thank you so much for offering such an outstanding product. Thanks from me and my clients."
Multilingual Jazz/ Bossa singer and voiceover artist Carol Bach-y-Rita recently purchased a 4' x 6' Gold Series VocalBooth™ to complete her newest album and continue her voiceover career.
I'm very excited about a my new CD "What Love Is", with Trey Henry, Robert Kyle, Mike Shapiro, and Jamieson Trotter.
After laying out of the music scene for a number of years, I've taken a dive back into the pool with this recording, and with 2 beautiful working groups in LA - the band on my CD, and my "Sambalicious" group w/ Robert Kyle on Reeds and percussion, Mitchell Long on Guitar, John Leftwich on acoustic bass. Still continuing with voiceover (which I adore) and commercial acting work, but it is great to be refocusing on music!
